Meet the Huisslager

Today butcher Crist Coppens comes to Open Air Museum de Locht with “a pig on the ladder”. Traditionally, because November is traditionally the month of slaughter. Slaughter and processing of meat used to be done at home. To keep the memory of home slaughter alive, the butcher comes to the museum to expertly bone the already slaughtered animal.
