For many years we have been paying ample attention to Christmas in our museum. Think of our busy Christmas markets. Unfortunately, we had to skip this pleasant time for two years, because of the pandemic. Fortunately, this year you can come and enjoy the Locht again on Sunday 18 December.
This time we organize a Christmas walk through Melderslo. The walking route of approx. 1.5 km can be started between 11.00 and 13.30 hours. In this time frame, the route is issued at the entrance of the museum. Along the way there are some sights. The church of St. Oda, there is a Christmas group present. A member of the Stichting Geschiedenis Melderslo tells at the Vlasven about the history of this. Through the back entrance you will then come back to the museum grounds.
As always, our museum is beautifully decorated. Christmas decorations, lights, baubles, nativity scenes, Christmas trees, it’s all there. Each room breathes the atmosphere of Christmas. There is Christmas music. Here and there craftsmen show their craftsmanship. In our chapel you can enjoy the a-capella choir Chill from Venray.
When you smell the smell of our freshly baked Christmas bread, you’re bound to get hungry. Drink a glass of mulled wine. Children can make an Advent light under expert guidance. You see: there is a lot to do. Come to Open Air Museum de Locht!
